On Wednesday I got a email at work from Erin (our daycare provider). Ellery had just thrown up all over. She was eating her snack and kind of gagged, spit her food out and proceeded to 'projectile vomit' across the table. Erin wasn't sure if she just choked and ended up throwing up or what. She said that Ellery was not running a temp and said that she felt fine. Since she had gotten sick Friday & Saturday night, I went and got her just to be on the safe side. I didn't want to be the culprit of getting everyone at daycare sick!! Ellery was fine the rest of the day and has been fine since. I'm hoping that is was just a coincedence that this all happened at the same time.
Wednesday afternoon we had Ellery's 3 year check up and Delani's 6 month.
Believe it or not, Delani is actually smaller than Ellery was at 6 months. I thought for sure she was bigger. Delani weighed 15#20z and measured 26 1/2 inches. As soon as I got home, I looked back to see what Ellery was at 6 months. She was 16#6oz and 27 1/4 inches. The Dr was debating whether to do an ultrasound on Delani due to her constipation issues. After feeling her belly, he decided against doing that. He said that in rare cases babies have something wrong with their colons that cause them to retain stool. He said that he does not think that is Delani's issue and thought that an ultrasound wouldn't even show anything. So we are just keeping close watch on this. Delani received 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine. She was such a trooper. She screamed right away when she got her shots but then when I picked her up, she laid her head down on my shoulder and tried to go to sleep. I felt so bad for having to put her in her car seat (btw...she HATES her cat seat).
Ellery weighed 35# and measured 37 inches. Now, I'm a little skeptical about that weight because right before we went to the Dr she was on the digital scale at home and it said 31. According to our scale that little peanut just recently broke 30 pounds!!! They had to take her blood pressure for the first time...at least that she is aware of. She was a little worried about that but the nurse told her that it was just going to give her a little hug. She did great! Ellery decided that she was going to play "shy" with the Dr and was hiding behind the table. Whenever he would ask her a ? she would just look at the floor and mumble her answer which you could barely understand what she was even saying. The Dr said that he was not worried about the throwing up issue but to just keep an eye on that.
All in all, the Drs appt went well for both girls. I am very thankful for my 2 healthy baby girls!
