Clingy clingy clingy

Oh my goodness is Delani ever clingy lately!! If I set her on the floor to play and walk away she screams her face off. You would think I just cut her arm off or something. I keep trying to tell her that she is never going to learn to keep up with her big sister if she is constantly being held. She just doesn't seem to understand...haha! I think I have finally come up with a trick to side track her though. Delani is nothing like her sister and LOVES food. To buy myself some time to get things done, I have put her in her high chair and pulled the high chair right next to me and givign her cheerios. The 1st time she had them she didn't know what to think but now she sees those things and is so excited! She has officially conquered the 'army crawl' and is all over the place (if she isn't screaming b/c I walked away). She has also started to climb. If Ellery, Andy or I are on the floor she is right there trying to pull herself up on top of us. Oh another new thing is that she loves to clap her hands. I have yet to get a good video of this but when I do, I will post it.

On Sunday, I took Ellery to her first movie at the theater. We went to see 'Hotel for Dogs' with Audree & Mayson. Ellery lasted probably about 30 minutes and then fell asleep and slept the rest of the movie...haha! She is like her Mother. I am so not a movie/TV watcher...I just fall asleep.

Sleep Over

Ellery had her first sleep over that was not with Grandparents this past weekend. Erin had all the kids over for a sleep over as a Christmas present to the parents. I know, I think she is a bit crazy too! :) She said that she would have taken Delani but I figured they would have more fun with out a little baby to distract them so she got to have a sleep over with Grandma Ball. I'm sure G-ma Ball loved the alone time with Delani only. Andy and I went out with Matt & Audree since Mayson was also at Erin's. Ellery had a great time but was very tired on Sunday. Thanks Aunt Bill (Erin) for the night out!!

I have posted some random pictures below!

Delani & Ellery on G-pa Cooper's snowmobile!

Delani had to make sure it really was all gone! Can you tell she LOVES to eat?

The girls playing tug-of-war in the bath tub!

Yes, I took this picture upside down! She was trying to eat her toes but that belly just seems to get in the way!

Do you like me new boots? They don't fit my big sis anymore so she gave 'em to me...if only I could walk in them!

This is a video of Delani in her jumperoo! Besides eating this is her next favorite thing to do. I don't know why it is sideways and I don't know how to fix it but anyways, you get the jist of it.

After I posted this, I realized that for those of you (Katie) who say that I have more pics of Ellery than Delani...I don't think that is true any longer since these are all of Delani! Haha!

Dr's Appts

On Wednesday I got a email at work from Erin (our daycare provider). Ellery had just thrown up all over. She was eating her snack and kind of gagged, spit her food out and proceeded to 'projectile vomit' across the table. Erin wasn't sure if she just choked and ended up throwing up or what. She said that Ellery was not running a temp and said that she felt fine. Since she had gotten sick Friday & Saturday night, I went and got her just to be on the safe side. I didn't want to be the culprit of getting everyone at daycare sick!! Ellery was fine the rest of the day and has been fine since. I'm hoping that is was just a coincedence that this all happened at the same time.

Wednesday afternoon we had Ellery's 3 year check up and Delani's 6 month.

Believe it or not, Delani is actually smaller than Ellery was at 6 months. I thought for sure she was bigger. Delani weighed 15#20z and measured 26 1/2 inches. As soon as I got home, I looked back to see what Ellery was at 6 months. She was 16#6oz and 27 1/4 inches. The Dr was debating whether to do an ultrasound on Delani due to her constipation issues. After feeling her belly, he decided against doing that. He said that in rare cases babies have something wrong with their colons that cause them to retain stool. He said that he does not think that is Delani's issue and thought that an ultrasound wouldn't even show anything. So we are just keeping close watch on this. Delani received 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine. She was such a trooper. She screamed right away when she got her shots but then when I picked her up, she laid her head down on my shoulder and tried to go to sleep. I felt so bad for having to put her in her car seat (btw...she HATES her cat seat).

Ellery weighed 35# and measured 37 inches. Now, I'm a little skeptical about that weight because right before we went to the Dr she was on the digital scale at home and it said 31. According to our scale that little peanut just recently broke 30 pounds!!! They had to take her blood pressure for the first time...at least that she is aware of. She was a little worried about that but the nurse told her that it was just going to give her a little hug. She did great! Ellery decided that she was going to play "shy" with the Dr and was hiding behind the table. Whenever he would ask her a ? she would just look at the floor and mumble her answer which you could barely understand what she was even saying. The Dr said that he was not worried about the throwing up issue but to just keep an eye on that.

All in all, the Drs appt went well for both girls. I am very thankful for my 2 healthy baby girls!

Happy Holidays

We have had a busy couple of weeks. On Christmas Eve we had Christmas with The Ostranders. Ellery had so much fun playing with Emma and the 'super babies'. Both of the girls got a ton of great gifts.

Ellery was so excited opening presents at G-ma Gerts!

Delani was more interested in eating the paper & bows rather than the presents!

On Christmas morning the girls did not wake up until 8ish. Ellery surprised me by wanting to eat BEFORE we opened presents.

Delani really loves to eat. Can you tell?

Ellery with her new Tinker Bell sheets!

Mom made us pose before she let us open any presents. She is so mean!

Santa brought Delani new toys that she can eat. YEAH!

Ellery loves her new art easel!

We went to G-pa Ball's when we got done opening presents at our house. Santa stopped there too!

She doesn't realize these are supposed to go on her feet.

G-ma Ball got Ellery a dog that actually breaths!

After G-pa Ball's we went to Uncle Dave's house to have Christmas with the Ford side of the family.

Ellery, Delani & Marek. Jacob was sick on Christmas day :( Marek was a bit rough with Delani. She was not too happy!

After Uncle Dave's we went to the Mallindine's. All the girls had so much fun playing with all the new toys. I think the Toys R Us delivery truck came right to their house. Haha!

I really was holding onto Delani!

On Sunday after Christmas we went to G-ma & G-pa Cooper's and celebrated Christmas with them.

G-pa Cooper is just so funny!

I think Ellery was being a great big sister and helping Delani open her presents. All Delani wants is to eat the paper.

The Ostrander Family

While we were at G-ma Cooper's, Delani started to get really fussy. I thought it was just because she was tired but then I felt a tooth in there. This past week has been a rough week. These teeth are really giving Delani a hard time. She has not been sleeping too well. I don't remember Ellery having so much trouble with her teeth. I know sleep will come back to us soon but for right now, I'm ready to pull my hair out!

The girls stayed the night with G-ma Ball on New Years Eve so that Mom & Dad could have a night out. Luckily, Delani didn't give her too hard of a time at night.

This past weekend, Ellery got sick both Friday & Saturday night. I think she ate some bad hot dogs but Dad just thinks I'm crazy. Saturday night she threw up all over herself and her bed. I got her in the bath and got her all clean bedding. I got her all tucked in and what do you ya, she got sick AGAIN! Sunday was a full day of laundry! She was fine last night so let's just hope it was the hot dogs.
